                                                   THE MANITOBA HONEY SHOW
The 2017 annual Honey Show, and Competition will be held at The Forks Market in Winnipeg, MB on September 23 & 24, 2017. It is a consumer focused Educational and Promotional event of the Manitoba Beekeepers' Association (MBA) and is organized and staffed by members of the Red River Apiarists' Association (RRAA). The event highlights several areas of interest for families, children, tourists, shoppers, and nature enthusiasts.
Event Highlights:
a) The focal point of the show is a display, highlighting award winning entries in the Honey Competition.
b) Another show area features a sample of Tools and Equipment used in our Beekeeping Industry.
c) A favourite spot for all ages is the traditional "Live Bee" display, where visitors can "Hear the Buzz".
d) Sweets from the Bees area features a variety of Artisinal or Floral Specific Honey, Bees Wax, and other hive related products for purchase.
e) Be sure to watch for times for either the Honey Cooking, Beeswax Hand/Face Cream preparation, Bees Wax Creation, or Honey Extracting Demonstrations.
Welcome to Visitors:
Visitors at the display are welcome to Talk with the Beekeepers, Learn about the Value of Honey and Pollination, Discuss the Health Benefits of Honey and other hive products, Take pictures of the Honey Bees, and Purchase your favourite floral specific honey from our local Artisans.
Invitation for Volunteers:
For Honey Producers wishing to volunteer at any one of these display stations, or enter the competition, contact any of our RRAA executive, or fill out an application form (see download information above).
Our Manitoba Competition Standards for the Honey and Wax sections are similar to those used at the National Competitions held yearly at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
