About Us

We are a Beekeeping Club, founded in March 1963, primarily for the Hobby and Beginning Beekeepers, located in and around the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. We're located at the junction of the Red River and the Assiniboine River. This area forms part of the Red River valley (which extends Southward into the U.S.A.), and thus our club name, Red River Apiarists' Association.
Although we offer lots of social activities with regular meetings, our aim is to provide an educational setting for our members. We enjoy talking about Honey Bees, Nectar sources, Pollination of Plants, and Honey Promotions. And yet, our strength is bringing together beginner, experienced and not-yet beekeepers, so they can share stories and insights. Encouraging Beekeeping in Manitoba continues to be a main focus of the club.
